By accessing or using Symbols LLC (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any modifications.
To use the Service, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements
- Not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable laws
- Comply with all applicable securities laws and regulations in your jurisdiction
Symbols LLC is a trading platform that provides:
- Real-time market data and stock quotes
- Options chain analysis and trading tools
- Portfolio tracking and management
- AI-powered trading assistant
- Algorithmic trading notebook environment
- Social trading features and community insights
- Price alerts via email
- Integration with third-party brokerage services
- Bank account linking and automated withdrawals to your linked bank account (where available; see Section 6A)
Symbols LLC is a technology platform only. We are not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, financial planner, or financial institution. We do not hold customer funds or securities. All brokerage services, including order execution, settlement, and custody of assets, are provided by your chosen brokerage provider.
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and complete registration information
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Immediately notifying us of any unauthorized use of your account
- Safeguarding access to your connected brokerage account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in suspicious activity.
The Service integrates with third-party brokerage providers to facilitate self-directed trading on your behalf. Your brokerage provider supplies brokerage services including order execution, trade settlement, and custody of securities.
- You must have a valid brokerage account to execute trades through the Service
- All trades executed through the Service are self-directed; you make all trading decisions independently
- Brokerage services, including execution, settlement, and custody, are provided solely by your brokerage provider, not by Symbols LLC
- Symbols LLC acts only as a technology interface to transmit your self-directed orders to your brokerage provider
- Your brokerage account is subject to your provider's terms of service, customer agreement, and applicable regulations
- Market data may be delayed and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for trading decisions
To trade through the Service, you connect your brokerage account using the industry-standard OAuth 2.0 authorization protocol. By initiating the connection, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- You will be redirected to your brokerage provider's website to authorize Symbols LLC to access your brokerage account
- Authorization grants Symbols LLC the ability to view your account information, portfolio holdings, and submit trade orders on your behalf as directed by you
- A single OAuth authorization covers both paper (simulated) and live trading modes
- Your OAuth access token is encrypted before it is stored, as described in our Privacy Policy, and is never stored in plaintext
- Symbols LLC does not have access to your brokerage login credentials (username/password)
- You may revoke access at any time by disconnecting your account in the Settings page or by revoking access directly through your brokerage provider
Upon disconnection or account termination, your encrypted OAuth access token is immediately deleted from our systems.
Where the feature is available to you, the Service lets you link a bank account and have cash withdrawn from your brokerage account to that bank account under rules you set. By linking a bank account or approving a withdrawal, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Plaid. Bank linking is performed through Plaid Inc. ("Plaid"). You sign in to your bank on Plaid's screens; Symbols LLC never receives your bank login credentials. By using Plaid Link you agree to Plaid's terms shown there and to the Plaid End User Privacy Policy, and you grant Plaid the right, power and authority to access and transmit your bank account information to Symbols LLC's brokerage partner as described in Section 4.8 of our Privacy Policy
- Alpaca executes transfers. Transfers are ACH transfers executed by Alpaca, the broker that holds your brokerage account, from that account to your linked bank account. Symbols LLC transmits your instructions to Alpaca and never holds, receives or controls your funds
- What Symbols LLC stores. We store your bank's name, the last four digits of the account, the account holder's name and an encrypted Plaid identifier. Your account and routing numbers are passed by Plaid to Alpaca and are never stored by Symbols LLC
- Each withdrawal needs your approval. No withdrawal is submitted without your separate approval of that specific withdrawal, given after a fresh second-factor verification. Each approval is a one-time authorization for the amount shown; the amount is re-checked against your current balances before submission and is never increased
- First-transfer hold and cooling-off. A newly linked bank account cannot receive a withdrawal for 72 hours after it is linked. Changes that loosen your withdrawal settings (a higher cap, a new rule, a different destination) take effect after a 24-hour cooling-off period; changes that tighten them, including a full halt, take effect immediately
- Name match and limits. Withdrawals are sent only to a bank account whose holder name matches the name on your brokerage account, and are subject to limits set by Symbols LLC and by Alpaca and to the settled, withdrawable cash in your brokerage account
- Returns and timing. ACH transfers typically settle in 1–3 business days and may be returned or reversed by your bank or by Alpaca after completion. You are responsible for any resulting negative balance
- Unlinking and revocation. You may unlink a bank account at any time in Settings → Balances. Unlinking cancels any pending withdrawal proposals and asks Alpaca to remove the transfer relationship; withdrawals already submitted to Alpaca complete or return under Alpaca's rules. You may also revoke Plaid's access at my.plaid.com, and you can freeze all withdrawals at any time in Settings
- Records. Symbols LLC keeps records of bank linking, approvals and transfers for at least two years, as described in our Privacy Policy, and may use them to investigate fraud or errors and to meet legal obligations

- Trading securities involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for all investors
- Past performance is not indicative of future results
- Options trading involves significant risks and may result in loss of your entire investment
- AI-generated insights and recommendations are for informational purposes only and do not constitute investment advice
- You should consult with a qualified financial advisor before making investment decisions
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of market data
- Algorithmic trading strategies may not perform as expected
YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT ALL TRADING DECISIONS ARE MADE SOLELY BY YOU, AND WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY TRADING LOSSES.
The AI-powered trading assistant:
- Provides information for educational and informational purposes only
- May produce inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information
- Does not constitute personalized investment advice
- Should not be the sole basis for any trading decision
- Is powered by third-party AI services with their own limitations
SMS alerts are not currently offered. If and when we offer them, by opting in to SMS alerts you agree that:
- You consent to receive automated text messages at the phone number provided
- Message frequency varies based on your alert settings
- Message and data rates may apply
- You can opt out at any time by texting STOP
- We are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages
- Alerts may be delayed and should not be relied upon for time-sensitive trading
Symbols is currently in a beta testing period. During the beta:
- Access to the platform is available via a subscription plan
- Subscription pricing is displayed at the time of signup and on the checkout page
- There are no additional platform fees beyond the subscription price
- Symbols does not charge per-trade commissions or mark up brokerage fees
- Market data is included with your subscription at no additional cost
Any fees related to trade execution, settlement, or regulatory charges are determined and charged by your brokerage provider, not by Symbols.
Subscription payments are processed securely through Stripe. Symbols does not store your credit card details. Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time; you will retain access to premium features until the end of your current billing period. As Symbols transitions from beta to general availability, pricing may be adjusted. Any pricing changes will be communicated to existing users at least 30 days in advance and applied only to future billing cycles.
You agree not to:
- Post false, misleading, or manipulative content
- Engage in market manipulation or securities fraud
- Share content that violates securities laws or regulations
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other accounts
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
- Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
You retain ownership of content you post but grant us a license to use, display, and distribute such content on the platform.
The Service, including its design, features, code, and content (excluding user-generated content), is owned by Symbols LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND
- WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
- WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES
- WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR TRADING LOSSES, LOST PROFITS, OR DATA LOSS
- OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS
- WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR THIRD-PARTY SERVICES, INCLUDING BROKERAGE EXECUTION
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Symbols LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits or class-wide arbitration.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination:
- Your right to use the Service immediately ceases
- Any connected brokerage OAuth access tokens will be revoked and deleted from our systems
- Any linked bank accounts will be unlinked, pending withdrawal proposals cancelled and the transfer relationship at your brokerage removed; withdrawals already submitted to the broker complete or return under the broker's rules
- You may also disconnect your brokerage account at any time via the Settings page prior to termination
- Provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Symbols LLC regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.
